Benamôr was founded in Lisbon in 1925 by a mysterious apothecary who used to create ointments in his Campo Grande laboratory. His hand-crafted beauty recipes were based on unique fragrances and natural ingredients grown under the Portuguese sun: lemon, rose, aloe vera and almond oil. Packaged in adorable Art Deco tubes, the line was an instant success, and all the Belles of Lisbon were crazy about it, including Queen Amélie.

Benamôr gave birth to some of Portugal’s cult beauty recipes, such as Créme de Rosto, the miracle face cream with rose extract that gives women instant radiance and whose recipe has remained unchanged since its creation. The Alantoíne and Bronzaline hand creams were also among the most coveted after their creation. Today, Benamôr is still one of Portugal’s most popular beauty brands, spreading its delicious recipes all over the world.
